King’s Cross is a mixed use development that includes offices, homes, shops, hotels, leisure and community facilities, music venues, galleries, bars and restaurants. It’s also home to the world famous arts college, Central Saint Martins which is part of the University of the Arts London.
The area is hugely diverse in terms of traditional and modern built space, open space and people, and all of this goes into making King’s Cross a vibrant, successful community that’s active seven days a week.
The King’s Cross Central Limited Partnership (KCCLP) is the developer for the 67-acre project, and has agreed terms for the independent charitable organisation Dolphin Square Foundation (DSF) to acquire 77 of the 255 homes to be delivered in Building P1 at King’s Cross. These will be one and two bedroom high-quality and highly sustainable apartments for people living and working in both Camden and Westminster as part of DSF’s aim to provide 1,000 new affordable homes for people in central London by 2020.
Fulcro authored the architectural content to establish a Stage D baseline Model for this project. As part of a discovery period, we brought together all the model information made available to us, and carried out a review and analysis on behalf of main contractor Carillion to provide visibility of the project's design and coordination. We also prepared a BIM Execution Plan for the project team to adopt.
