Alongside its continued positive business performance , Fulcro has been looking to the future by implementing an exciting ‘next-gen’ programme to help inspire students to take up a career in the construction industry.
The students initially have no, or little, experience in the construction industry. However, through collaboration with local colleges and workplace experience at Fulcro, they can develop an array of skills to positively impact not only Fulcro, but the construction industry as a collective.
Fulcro is a company that’s always had one eye on the future. The business continues to strive to invest in development and these ‘trainees’ have been a firm fixture at Fulcro over the past ten years, with many still employed by the company. Whether in the form of school leavers, mature students or our ‘class of 2019’ who have just finished their BTEC college courses, Fulcro has always ensured there’s a pathway of development and it’s not just the trainees who have this opportunity. All members of staff are encouraged and provided with the opportunity to grow and improve. This philosophy lends itself perfectly to the construction industry, as Fulcro’s staff have been given the required freedom and encouragement to create some of the most innovative and revolutionary technology in the market.
Stuart Parish, Project Manager, said: “This next-gen programme highlights Fulcro’s core philosophy of continuous development and shows our commitment to not only advancing our own business strategy, but also providing a pathway that can benefit the construction industry as a whole. It’s crucial that the organisation has a whole culture of learning and development, which not only helps us to keep bringing through new trainees but also to develop the skillset of current staff members through internal teachings and knowledge sharing.
“The next-gen programme provides students with a fantastic opportunity to become involved first-hand in some of Fulcro’s landmark projects. As our client base is extremely diverse, it’s imperative that we don’t develop a ‘silo mentality’ of working and by spreading our expertise across the business we’re ensuring that our staff have a number of different competencies.”
